Who pays for this

Harry Brisson pays for McKinley Park Today himself. We take no advertising and no sponsorships, and no one pays us to cover or skip a story.

Money isn’t the only thing that can bend coverage. Our conflicts of interest page lists the rest.

Ward Wise

Harry is part of Ward Wise, a Chicago metrics collective that organizes the city’s public data by ward and neighborhood. Ward Wise supplies the data plumbing behind our numbers. It has no say over what we cover or what our stories conclude, and our stories don’t promote it. When a story relies on Ward Wise data, it says so.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it on the page and add a note at the bottom saying what changed and when. Tell us about an error at harry@mckinleypark.today.

Our numbers

The daily numbers on the front page come straight from the City of Chicago’s open data portal, filtered to McKinley Park (community area 59). Most City feeds run a few days behind, so each number says how recent it is.
